(Grandma Joycie sends her love and prayers!)

Hey Team Nicaragua! It’s a blessing to know so many of you. Your choice to spend the summer in the missions’ field is just the first of many steps toward your journey and walk with Christ. James, I miss and love you more than I could ever show or tell you. God has shown me the plans He has for you and this is all part of it. Please hug as many children as you can because some of them never get the kind of love you are used to. Take lots of pictures!
Nick M. Aaron M., it’s been a joy watching you grow with James and the fact that you are all on the missions’ trip together is an incredible feeling for me. You are all future leaders and I want to encourage you to step out of your comfort zones and draw others to you during this trip.
To the rest of Team Nicaragua 2010-use this opportunity to step outside of your comfort zones and make some friends in Nicragua. Try to speak the language, ask the locals how it is that words are said because this means a lot to them. THey don’t care about your hairstyles, or clothes but what does speak to them is your ability to speak to them no matter how you do it. Be thankful for the food they provide, please and thank you are the magic words-por favor y gracias. Laugh with them and sit with them, talk with them, love them. Drink lots of water and use your sunscreen. God bless and protect you always.
    Love to you all!

  9. Hey Kates (Katie Siplivy that is)…

Well you made it thru your 1st day, and half way thru the 2nd!!! Be sure to go w/the FLOW. When I was in Costa Rica our missionary was Rick Ryan, and his motto was “go with the flow….don’t wolf” (flow spelled backwards) :) Take in all of God’s beautiful creation and the wonderful works of his hands. My favorite was the clouds…the clouds here at home don’t compare to the clouds in Central America. You and the team are in my prayers every moment. I pray that you stay safe, healthy, and that God gives you the words to speak to the needs that are present. Also for a restful rejuvenating night of sleep every night!! I love you and are so proud of you!! Don’t forget to eat some yummy food for me!
P.S is the famous words of our mother “….Drink more water.” ;)

    Love Brooke
