Today’s lesson is a common one in the church: Faith without works is dead. However, we were lucky enough to have Meesh give us a new twist on this lesson and challenged us to go deeper.

James 2:18,
18But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

Meesh spoke tonight about a conviction that God had placed on her heart. It’s easy to *think* that you have the works to back up your faith (especially if, like Meesh, you work in a church). However, this challenge of putting actions to your faith is more than just a monthly or weekly basis- its a daily living of your faith.

Here’s what we mean by that: What do you do every single day for God? Lets pretend you met someone who gives to charity, who volunteers for hospitals, who feeds hungry children and is a great example of Christ’s love in every way– except, they don’t believe in God. What do you DO that would make it obvious that YOU are a christian as opposed to the non-believer?

Be intentional. Don’t just wait for opportunities to come to share your faith or talk about what God has done for you. Rather, MAKE those opportunities happen. Talk about your faith even when no one asks. Help others when no one else does. Lastly, make room for God every single day. Remember, people judge you by how you act. Act in a way that glorifies Christ.

Food for Thought: If someone were to accuse you of being a Christian, would they have enough evidence to convict you?

Blessings!
