Frequency tonight started off with PHENOMENAL worship provided by His Name High! The atmosphere in worship was so ripe with God’s presence. I don’t think I saw a single student that wasn’t touched by what was going on in the Youth Center.

The message tonight was brought to us by guest speaker Jason Lamer who captured our attention by asking us, “What do YOU want to see happen in your schools this year?” We opened to Jeremiah 33 to read about Jeremiah being stuck in a bad situation (jail) and watching that situation become even worse. He was stuck in a time and situation shrouded in darkness. And don’t we know that school can sometimes feel like a prison cell?

Jeremiah 33: 1-3
1 While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time: 2 “This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Jeremiah had an encounter with God even in the midst of darkness. We can have an encounter with God, even in the midst of school.

Jason focused a lot on verse 3, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” God wants to tell YOU great and unsearchable things about your school this year. There are people that God wants you to reach. But how can you be ready for the things God wants to do in your school? How can you be ready for the moments where God wants you to spread His name?

Prayer, that’s how.

The only way we can keep a constant state of readiness to act in God’s name is by keeping a constant state of prayer. The only thing that can stop the change God wants to see in your school is your un-readiness.

Remember, God has already promised us victory. He tells us that His word will not come back void. So, will you commit to be a campus missionary this year? Will you reach the hurting and broken students that you pass by every day? Remember: God has promised us victory!

Food for Thought: Whatever has your attention gains your affection. Whatever has your affection becomes your devotion. Does God have your attention?

Have an awesome week everyone! Remember, if YOU want to make a difference in your school but you don’t know how, please talk to Pastor Jeff or one of the Youth Leaders and we’d be thrilled to help you become a campus missionary.

Love you all!
