Yesterday we had our third week of JJAM ‘09 and it was hippie day! Sam Holobinko won the spirit contest with her very cool outfit. Since the weather was so nice, we went down to the fields. We started out with a classic game of capture the cone. After that we played some tug of war, which gave everyone rope burn. Then we played a game of pop the balloon. Most of the balloons popped before the game began because of the hard grass, but it was still fun. Next Pastor John gave a great devo about witnessing including a very funny story about a granny who beat up 6 security guards. Then it was time to head back up to the youth center. It was a very fun day of jjam.

The Team Scores:

Phag: 405,000

Maiesio: 382,000

Taph: 369,000

Dutch: 387,000

Next weeks spirit theme is JERSEY DAY!

Here is the trivia question:

What year was the national football league founded?

Answer with the team name included.

Just a reminder…

Great Escape payment and forms are due tonight at youth.

Worship with a Cause is this sunday night in the youth center at 7 pm. We’d love to see you there.

heyyy [:

hope your weeks been a good one so far!

Things at Frequency have been a blast... to start off,  Freak out Friday at Frequency, was disguisting to say the least! Pumpinks filled with junk, gross blender games, and kiddie pools filled with even more crap.

At Fusion Middle School, we played the shoe game where all the kids graced us with the smell of their unwashed feet. Once all their shoes were in a pile in the center of the room, we sent them all in to retrieve them. simultaneously. hectic, as you can imagine.

J-jam was crazy. At the beginning, we played Octopus. always a treat. Next we moved onto a intense game of dodgball. Amazon women was to follow with the few guys we had. Pastor Jan spoke on facing your fears.  We fought our fears by writing them down and throwing them at a giant chicken… who was pretty intimidating himself.

Next week is Hippie Day!! Your question this week is: When did the hippie movement begin? Teams, please leave your answer in a comment.  First one to answer gets 1,000 points [: Be sure to leave your team name otherwise you won’t get credit.

Youth Group is tonight. Bring your Fobs!! We will hopefully have the computer by next week!

peace out

Youth began with  Dave Wolfe dazzling us (or disgusting us) with one of his announcement creations once again.  Then the two new youth staff members, Jason and Dale, were introduced via the Frequency Hotseat with Pastor Jeff as the host.  Next we went into an awesome time of worship let by Joe Fang and Ryan Ritchey.

Afterwards, Pastor Jeff gave his message on stepping up to the plate.  He talked about how 300 night will be in October and how we should be praying for our lost friends.  Then we were encouraged to write two of our friends names on poster boards to keep them in our thoughts.

As for J-jam, here is your trivia question for 10,000 pts.  Please comment with the answer along with your team name…

What phobia is the fear of long words?

Don’t forget next week is team color day!  See you then!  =]

The first day of J-Jam was soooo gooood! Many kids showed up excited to play some intense games.  First we split up into our teams: Maieusiophobia (fear of childbirth, and simply the best team, but then again I might be biased), Taphepediophobia (fear of being buried alive by dolls), Phagophobia (fear of being eaten), and Dutchphobia (fear of the Dutch).

Next, each team took turns swinging at the pinata.  Once it broke open, candy and balloons rained onto the carpet.  Each team had to grab balloons and pop them for points.  Phagopobia dominated at that and had three balloons.

After that, the J-Jammers played a new game called Electricity.  They had to stand in a line and once they saw that the coin the ref flipped was on heads, they had to squeeze each others hands until it got to the last person in line.  Then either Sophie or Austin would run to grab the cone off the chair.

The last game was the most competitive of all.  We played steal the bacon, a J-Jam favorite, featuring car tires, beach balls, and noodles.  Luckily no one got seriously injured.

To close us out Pastor Jeff talked to us about fears and how we shouldn’t be afraid to show people Christ in our schools.  He also mentioned that See You at the Pole was today.  I hope you guys were able to make it!

Hope to see you guys next Tuesday!  Don’t forget to wear your team colors for team spirit day, and check back tomorrow for the trivia question.  Whoever gets the answer in first gets extra points for his or her team!

Now for the points total:

First:  Phagophobia   233,000 pts

Second: Dutchphobia   229,000 pts

Third: Maieusiophobia   210,000 pts

Fourth: Taphepediophobia   205,000 pts

Yesterday at J-Jam, we started off with a little bit of Matt Ball, J-Jam favorite!  After that we went to a J-Jam Original, DODGEBALL! You can never go wrong with dodgeball.  Then up to the sanctuary for a quiz on different jerseys from different sports.  After that we played a round of Amazon Women!  Everybody loves this game.  Matt Burkey died, and Eric Stump saved him!  Then we went to our gross out game. Creme Egg! Each team had to eat 12 of them.  Disgusting!

You can only find excitment like this at JJAM. This past JJAM was animal day and it was a blast. We even had one kid come in as a green T-Rex. We began the day with a great game of Octupus followed by an intense time of dodgeball where each team had one person who was “it.” This added a lot of strategy and made for a great time. Then, up in the youth center, Pastor Jon showed off some of his unique skills when he taught us how to do cup-stacking. The day proceded with Mia giving a challenging devo on sacrifice and what it means to live a sacrificial life. Finally, we ended with an interesting gross out game, made up by Pastor Jon, where the students attempted to hold in the foam and gas being created when alka-seltzer and sprite mix.Cant wait to see you next week for star wars day!

This week at J-Jam we went outside and played a great game of Kickball.    Then we played a game of Earthball volleyball.  It was splendid!  A lot of it was a battle between McFlurry Fury and Double Cheesey Beef Burrito.  Then we went onto a game, where we froze  a piece of a straw and a paper clip in a cup, and we had to melt the ice to get the things out of it.  It was FREEZING!  The devotion on Leadership was brought to us by Erica Eschbach and Chelsea Marshall.  Ending J-Jam with the gross out game, we had to dip our hands into a fish tank and pull out gold fish and other objects in the bottom of the tank.  And thats the J-Jam recap for the week.  This week is Animal Day!

2nd – DC Beef Buritto: 960,000

3rd – 10 Piece: 950,000
