Hey its Calah writing today with Kari and Miranda on my sides. We’re continuing the blog from last night, for team 2. Team 2 visited the tent church that we first went to on Saturday when we arrived in Nicaragua. Eric and Shanna Ferguson (the missionaries) picked us up in a van and drove us to the church plant. We had so much fun goofing off and telling jokes. The service was mainly for adults while the children went into a separate building and had their own service. We started off with “Es Mi Rey”, then Burkey gave an awesome testimony, next we did “Puppet Master” (which I got to be a main demon for the first time and it was such a great experience –Calah)
Maryssa gave her testimony which came straight from her heart, then we did “God so Loved”. Kari gave her testimony and shared things for the first time about her life which I was so proud of her for. It’s awesome to see how God can use someone so powerfully. And last we ended with the drama Everything which God always uses us to show his love so strongly. Pastor Jeff preached on being the bride of Christ. So many couple came up for prayer and God healed relationships, told people how to raise their children in an environment filled with God’s love, and made couples seem so much happier because their foundation was now built on Christ. I could feel God working inside of them. After the service we went to dinner at an Italian pizzeria with Eric and his wife and some of the pastoral staff from the church. The food was so delicious.
Now for today…. we went to an active volcano named Masaya. Kari and I rode in the back of a truck and the view was gorgeous!!! When we got to the volcano there were 150 177 steps leading to a lookout over the volcano and the beautiful view that was marked by a cross. It was hard to breathe on the way up because of the volcano smoke, but once we got to the top it was easier to breath.
After the volcano we went to a local park and did a program for the kids who just got out of school. They loved it and swarmed us for candy and tracks. All the kids wanted prayer. It was so awesome to see kids wanted prayer. I had 5 little girls run to me asking for prayer and tracks. On the way home Miranda and I rode in the back of the truck and sat in traffic for an hour. We could not get comfortable at all because of the bumps in the trunk bed. Lunch was good we either had chicken or papa john’s pizza. Later tonight we had a night service at hosanna south. God was showed his power tonight. Well that’s all for us, Dave is going to go into more detail about the service tonight. Dude we’re so excited for tomorrow. We’re all so happy that we got this extra day. Praise Jesus!!
Oh and I have to add that for 2 days we played a game called “it is”. Pastor Jeff would pick 3 random objects that described a person and we had to guess who the person was. I got so into the game. It took me two days to get the game and last 2 nights ago we were up till 2 in the morning trying to figure it out. It got to the point where I started crying because I was getting to mad. About 15 minutes after I cried I got it and I was so happy!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Calah I am so happy that you got to help out with this Blog.
Good morning Bethany,
It was soooooooooo good to see your face on the Blog this morning. But you all looked so sad, I figured it was because you miss your families so much and can’t wait to get on that plane Saturday. Okay, I know that isn’t the reason but a mom can dream can’t she? I’m sure you will be sad to leave Nicaragua but we are excited to see you and hug you and kiss you and hear all about it. We are putting the finishing touches on your new room — sure hope you like it. We’re anxious for tomorrow. Love you, Mom.
Hello Kari, I was not going to write today but when I saw the blog and saw you helped out, and then seeing your face I just had to write. It sounds like you had a great day and I wish I had a picture of you riding the back of the truck. Miss you much, have a great last day in Nicaragua, and we will see you tomorrow night. Love ya, Mom
Hi Amanda. I am sure you are tired of my comments but when I saw your picture this morning I had to say “Hi”. All of you look so tough, Amanda I don’t think I have ever seen you in a picture without a smile. Maybe this the the “warrior for Christ look” It looks good on you. It is great to see all of your faces. I’m sure I am looking forward to tomorrow night more than you are. I was worried about you being able to stand the heat but it is in the high 90’s here so you may be cooler. Jonathan is going with Dad tomorrow and then to Texas for a week on Monday. Dad says his rids home from work just are not the same without you to talk too! I miss you and will continue to pray for a GREAT display of the Lord’s signs and wonders on this last day in Nicaragua! I went to my small group at Linda’s last night. Jeff Powell prayed a really cool prayer for all of you!!! Maybe some of you could come on a Thursday night and share about all of the wonderful things God did through you in Nicaragua???
See you tomorrow, love and hugs,
Mom
Ryan, It was so wonderful to see all of you! I hope that you are enjoying yourself more than the picture shows. I arrived back in PA last night-it was so good Donna, Dan and I went with Dad to see his sister. It would have been a difficut trip for him on his own. We are continuing to pray for all of you, and eager to see you on tomorrow night. I hope that you have a wonderful last day of ministry.
With Love,
Mom
I am so printing that picture out and framing it! This is definitely something that is a keeper. A reminder of the team that stood before the cross on the hill and fought the good fight amidst the smoke and flames of the devil. What a visual! WOO HOO!
haha calah sounds like you were taking “it is” a bit to seriously. im liking the serious poses in the picture but you all look dead tired and grumpy.
Wow! That pic is great! Who took it??? I am so glad you all are having a VERY productive time down there and enjoying very special moments that the LORD has orchestrated for you! You have done well! Stay on the cutting edge – you only have a little more than a day left. Pay attention and ensure that the enemy of our souls does not distract you. You are running the race! May God continue to bless your efforts and bring you home with LOTS of victories in your lives, hearts and mouths! Yee hawww!!! GOD is soooo good and faithful! Remember, we are praying for you all! Be blessed! Mom & Dad Hummel
PS See you late Saturday night! Love yah Laura!
Can you believe you are coming home tomorrow? It is obvious from the postings that you are all growing closer as a group and individually closer to God. Tori, we miss you a bunch and can;t wait to see you tomorrow night. I hear some of the families are planning to get together Saturday evening before you get to CLA. I am anxious to hear all of the stories you will have. It sounds like God has really used you – this is only the beginning! Mom says Hi, and dutchess says woo woo woof grrr. Any good pranks? Be sure to ask us about the guy at Sheetz with a slurpee
Love you lots,
Dad

I’ve already enlarged the picture and printed it out to show others who have been praying for you on your trip. We’ll have to frame that one and the cricket! I can’t wait to hear all your stories. Kaitlyn wants to hear about your friend Alfredo. How was the zipline?? How is the elbow? I know, we ask too many questions . . . We continue to pray blessings over you as you minister there in your last day in Nicaragua, and for a safe trip home. I know you have been challenged and have grown in your faith. Ian,
I’m so excited for tomorrow! I can’t wait till I see you again. Believe it or not, I’ve been so bored not talking to you. I think the picture is so cool…you look really serious (then again you always look like that). You’ll get your gift tomorrow when you get back. Like I’ve said in all my messages, you and the team are in my prayers, and keep doing what you’re doing. It makes God proud. Not to mention me and my family too.
Can’t wait to see you,
Maddie and the rest of the family
Dear Matthew,
Cameron and I would like to profess our undying love for you.
Small groups went well.
Cameron almost died. Because he jumps like a white man. We will explain later.
I also almost died. But it was attempting a much cooler feat.
But the important thing is that we are both alive. And that you are coming home tomorrow.
But what time are you coming home?
That information is vital.
Tori has attractive ankles.
Eric and Cameron
Team,
We gotta know when you’re coming back..like, the time.
Ian- If you don’t get back till really late, I’ll see you on Sunday. (I’ll try to be there when you get back tommorrow. If I’m not there, just call me when you get home. )
Love,
Maddie Hartwell
