On June 12th, we are having an event to introduce our visitors to Frequency and to have some fun doing it!

Here’s the best part:  We haven’t decided what we’re going to do yet, we’re leaving that up to you!  Let us know what you think we should do next Friday!  Movie night? Dodgeball? Basketball? Capture the Flag? It’s up to you!

We would like to wish all students and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. Let us acknowledge and be thankful for all the blessings our Father in heaven has graciously given us. There will be no Frequency on Wednesday, November 26. Instead, join us in the Main Sanctuary for our annual Thanksgiving Communion Service at 7:00 PM.

Pastor Jeff is holding an informative meeting on Monday, November 17 at 7p in the Youth Center for all parents and others who are interested in obtaining more information about Frequency Youth. He will be discussing future events, programs, and classes which will be offered in 2009.

When I first picked up the phone at my desk, I thought it was the guy from Nikoli’s Pizza. Quickly I realized, it was Abdias. I couldn’t help but yell. He and Amy are doing great. They just had there baby girl. She is now 8 weeks old. Elena is getting along wonderfully with her new baby sister….The orphanage just excepted three new children. They are now up to 23 children and have the capacity for 30. The children ask about the team when they see Abdias. He said they usually describe the student and ask when there going to see them again. Of course, I asked how Larry and his siblings were doing and he said their doing great. He mentioned Larry is cuter than ever….Abdias has yet to get a facebook because he doesn’t have access to the internet very often. He does plan on creating one soon. He tells everyone hello and he misses you greatly.

Due to the weather forcast, Capital Area Pregnancy Center is rescheduling the car wash to Saturday, September 20….

If you would have asked me five years ago, where you see yourself five years from now, I would have never said working for a church. I majored in landscape management at University of Maryland. It was a passion to work with plants and in the soil until God took a hold of my life and honestly changed my heart….

While pursuing God and trying to fill this void in my life, I knew I wanted to get involved in something that loved on people in the community. Even before I gave my life to him, he instilled in me how to serve and love….

So, I landed here, at CLA, as the admin assistant to the Youth Pastor b/c Pastor Tony Sebastian believed in me and wanted to see spiritual growth in my life. It has been life changing to say the least…

Have you ever had a passion to do something then a year or two passes and you realize that you are so far from it….Sure, I know we go through different seasons and sometimes passions and dreams can be put on hold…I remember saying to friends while taking care of Baba and managing a part-time business that I want to do more and help in the community….little did I know that I desired to do something in the name of Jesus not for myself.

I want to take advantage of this divine season and place….With the new vision of the church, Love God…Love People…Change the World…, it has brought back all the desires I have to impact our community…

Here are a few areas this month you can love people…and change the world. The first opportunity is working with Capital Area Pregnancy Center. They offer caring and professional medical services, abortion recovery counseling and support, clothing and furnishings for mothers and baby, among other programs. They are completely self funded. They hold six car washes a year to help fund these programs, this being the last one for the year. They need 6-8 volunteers. It will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 9:30am-2:00pm in Mechanicsburg off the Bowmansdale exit. Click here for more information about CAPC.

The second opportunity is helping the Center for Champions of PA. Center for Champions of PA is an outreach to inner-city, at-risk families using a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body and spiritual needs of the individuals we serve. They are committed to changing the city for Christ one family at a time….Once a month they have dinners for the parents. This month it will be held for the entire family at a Veteran’s Park Elmerton Avenue in Harrisburg. They are in need of 10-12 volunteers to serve and love on the kids. The date is Thursday, September 11 from 4:00-9:00pm. We are leaving from the Youth Center at 4:00p.  Click here to find out more information about CFC.

Three days until Nicaragua! I am so excited!!! Yesterday, the Nicaragua Team spent the entire Sunday morning in Kids Town. It was an awesome experience. The students acted out several of their dramas they have been working months on and shared life experiences with the young ones. Margie Stahl, one of the many handworking leaders in Kids Town, said she has never seen the kids so focused. It was beautiful, at the end of the service, Pastor Jeff asked if any students wanted to know Christ and a few hands went up. I had the privelage to pray with one of the girls. Later, he asked the kids to gather around the Nicaragua Team and pray for us. It was so precious hearing them call out to God for protection over us. The kids are so impressional. They are like little sponges absorbing everything in sight….It was a great experience for all of us and good practice before our departure.

This time next week the Panama team will have landed and be ministering to the people of Panama. They leave on Thursday, June 12 at 12:30 AM from the Youth Center. So no confusion, this is after service on Wednesday Night. Please keep them in your prayers now and while on the trip. They will be returning on Saturday, June 21 around 10:00 PM.
