You can only find excitment like this at JJAM. This past JJAM was animal day and it was a blast. We even had one kid come in as a green T-Rex. We began the day with a great game of Octupus followed by an intense time of dodgeball where each team had one person who was “it.” This added a lot of strategy and made for a great time. Then, up in the youth center, Pastor Jon showed off some of his unique skills when he taught us how to do cup-stacking. The day proceded with Mia giving a challenging devo on sacrifice and what it means to live a sacrificial life. Finally, we ended with an interesting gross out game, made up by Pastor Jon, where the students attempted to hold in the foam and gas being created when alka-seltzer and sprite mix.Cant wait to see you next week for star wars day!

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever… but that doesn’t mean that our love for Him needs to become routine and boring. Have you become NUMB to the presence of God in your life? That is the question that Pastor Jeff proposed to the entire youth group this past Wednesday. I personally believe that Frequency has been in a “dry spot” where we have let God become so familiar that He has become perdictable. WHOA!!!, HOLD UP A SECOND!… God… our mighty God who calmed the seas and defeated the grave…  becoming predictable? I pray that we would break out of that box. Our relationship with God is to be an adventure filled with valleys and mountains, and deserts and flooded lands. It should never become predictable. Mark Batterson calls our pursuit of God and His Holy Spirit a Wild Goose Chase. Its not meant to be predictable. Its meant to be exciting and always new.

Pastor Jeff has diagnosed the problem, next week he will attempt to offer the remedy. Frequency is now stepping into a new era. Its time for a passionate, purposeful pursuit of Jesus. No more playing around! Pastor Jeff made that very clear last week. Lets step up to the plate and take hold of our God given destiny. [youversion]Hebrews 12:2 [/youversion]tells us that God is the author of the story. He is in control. Lets give Him the reigns and let Him pour his fire into us. Its impossible to be numb when the electricity of the Lord courses through your veins. Let the adventure begin!

Over the past 8 weeks Pastor Jeff has challenged us with the task of doing hard things. We were never meant to be mediocre. God created us for great things, but society tells us that we are incapable of great things during our teenage existence. Essentially, society tells us to coast through our teens years and accomplish nothing. God tells us differently. He he says in 1 Tim 4:12 that we as the younger generation are to be an example to all in everything that we do. We are capable of so much more than we can even comprehend.

Last night, Pastor Jeff challenged us to subtract things from our life that were hindering us and to add to or nurture things in our life that will create Godly disciplines. G od has called us out of mediocrity and into divine reality. Now that the series is over, our journey begins. Dont let this be the end. Passionately pursue God and pursue God ordained dreams. Think big… make a difference… DO HARD THINGS!!!

Sunday night, over 80 students made a commitment to remain pure and to abstain from sexual activity until marriage. It was awesome to see the overwhelming amount of adults there ready to support each student as they entered into this phase of their life. The night started with Pastor Wayde delivering an opener where he encouraged the students about their decisions. The night then transitioned to a time of worship and praise where everyone focused on the Lord. After Amber and Pastor Jeff delivered a a heartfelt message, Nick Brinson performed an awesome monologue that caused each person to consider the depth of their relationship with God. Finally, the night ended with every student saying the pledge out loud and their families supporting and praying over their children.

This night was a victory won against the constant attack of the devil on our society. Our society tells us that it is unrealistic to wait to have sex until marraiage, but God says that all things are possible with Him. We have pledged our lives to Live Pure. Now the real journey begins…

1st – Team Ten Piece – 394,500

2nd – DC Beef Burrito – 381,000

3rd – Mcflurry Fury – 369,000

This past weeks J Jam was awesome. We started off with a J Jam favorite of Octopus followed by an intense game of dodgeball. The games were heated, but Team Ten Piece came out of them with a ton of extra bonus points for knocking out key players of the games. We then moved on to our Sanctuary games of cinderella shoes and the 3-legged race. After that, Chris McNaney delivered his devotional on what true worship is. He had us ponder what true worship really is. Worship is not just singing songs to God. It is devoting your life to his purposes. Finally, the night ended with a great gross out game where Team Whopper’s JJ led the team to a quick victory by shoving his face into the baked bean and pretzel mixture.

We hope to all see you next week. Remember…. BRING YOUR FRIENDS!!!

This past Wednesday at Frequency Youth Pastor Jeff continued the “Do Hard Things” series where he has been challenging us to step out of our comfort zone and take risks that are destined to fail without the intervention of God. Our teen years are not coasting years. They are packed with the potential for greatness. Pastor Jeff closed the night with an altar call dealing with various struggles. Those who have made their new years resolution to change, and have already fallen flat on their face still have the opportunity to live different.  God wants to meet you where you are, and take you to unimaginable places. Never doubt what God can do through you.

DO HARD THINGS!!!   Chase after God, never back down, and never give up

Great Escape this year was awesome! Pastor Chris Gilkey spoke with a purpose in mind… to spark the fire inside of this generations hearts. Pastor Chris has a heart that is after God. His transparency displayed while giving his testimony and while sharing his heart really allowed all of us to feel as though Pastor Chris was on a personal level with all of us. He didn’t hold anything back, and he let God lead him in every aspect of the weekend.

We came hungry and desperate for God. We were in a mindset ready to receive anything that God would throw at us. And He most certainly did throw A LOT at us. On Friday night, Pastor Chris encouraged us with a verse from Matthew: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. The presence of God was so strong in that place, and the more we sought after God, the more he began to speak and manifest himself.

God came in a mighty way at the Saturday night session. He was moving in such a powerful way during worship because people were hungry. They wanted more, and they got more. Pastor Chris then informed us that God had other plans for this service, so he basically abandoned what he was going to speak about and began leading us farther into God’s presence. There had already been about a dozen or more salvations on Friday night, now during this night over 20 people were baptized in the Holy Spirit and over 30 people responded to their ministry calling. God began to manifest himself and the place was filled with the presence and fire of God. During that night there was even a physical healing for Troy Sinclair. It was an amazing and awe inspiring moment that caused us to become so desperate for more of God. I believe that Harriet Benkovich described the event of this night the best: “You could barely tell what color the carpet was.” God came and overwhelmed many. We got a taste of what a life consumed by God is like.

Now, I ask those of you who attended this retreat… Did it change you? Are you Living Different?, Or are you still the same? God calls us to “not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2). So… are you different?, or are you still conforming to the ways of this world? God calls us to be different and to stand out. Don’t put God to the backburner, he will not accept that ever. He demands that we follow him and live for him. He wants us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (LIVE DIFFERENT!) so that we may prove what the will of God is. If we live different, Gods perfect and pleasing will shall be shown and completed in us.

If you want more of God, then this is your call to LIVE DIFFERENT!

…But if you just want a lukewarm existence, then you’re in a dangerous position. For God’s Word says “So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.” No one wants that…

Now is your time shine. We are the chosen generation. Now it’s time for you to make a choice…
